Why kappa pi beta?

Of the many fraternities already out there, one may ask "What makes Kappa Pi Beta so special?"  There are many things that set Kappa Pi Beta apart from other fraternities.  One of the main things is our values.  Many stereotypes are set upon fraternities that have been portrayed in the media.  Most members of fraternities are seen as wild, irresponsible, rowdy animals whose only concerns are to drink, meet women, and party.

There is a strong motive in Kappa Pi Beta to break these and other modern perceptions of the typical fraternity.  One way we try to do this is by focusing on responsibility through academics.  We understand that education is the main priority of college and we stress its importance on the individual.  We also focus on providing service to the community, respect for the fellow man and the community, and gentlemen values.

Another thing that is unique about Kappa Pi Beta is our origin.  We were founded in DeKalb, Illinois which is in the Midwestern section of the nation.  Although there are many fraternities here in the Midwest, most of them originated in either the West or East coast and found its way here.  Therefore, the fraternities established here from the West and East still follow the values of their roots.  Being founded in the Midwest, Kappa Pi Beta is one of the few fraternities that enforces the true values of the Midwest.

In addition, Kappa Pi Beta emphasizes on the Asian-American culture.  Of the many existing fraternities, only a handful are rooted in the Asian-American culture.  Although we do not discriminate against any other race and accept those from all different cultures, one of the main goals of Kappa Pi Beta is to make others aware of the Asian-American population.
